- Answer I am almost sure that Nest and Ring are going to operate in separate apps. So you will need to Jump back and forth between the two. But...With having the Nest Smoke alarm, thus downloading the app for setup. You can still be notified on your Smart Phone if something is happening while your away, just like Ring will do with their devices.

QuestionUp to how many phones can if send the alerts to? Can it be hung on a wall, or does it have to be a celing?

- Answer I don't believe there is a limit to the number of devices that can be alerted. It sends alerts to the Nest account that is logged in. My wife is the "owner" of the Nest account where all our Nest devices are configured. I have my own Nest account but am added as a family member. Alerts get sent to both. So you can add multiple users, and if those accounts are signed in, alerts will go to all the devices. The Nest Protect can go on a wall or ceiling. There are instructions for both wall and ceiling mounting, including angled walls/ceilings.

QuestionI have a triplex.So have KIDDIE smokes and 1 smoke carbon in the garage and 1 in LR. 1 in the garage,and in-home have total 10 just want to ADD 1 NEST in Living-R. CAN I HAVE 1 CARBON/SMOKE & HAVE THE OTHER 9 STILL WORK together hard wired .Gut 2015

- Answer Hi there. I was having the same problem in my home. I had the old generation smoke detectors (wired ones), I just removed them from the ceiling and installed the NEST. It easy to install, check it out youtube for the installation. Should be super easy. Thanks.

- Answer There is no difference between being on your network or remote. During setup, the nest needs to connected to the internet to be activated. Assuming you do not subsequently disable via your firewall, you can do all functions both remote and locally via the app - including both turning off an alarm and testing.
