• If your home has a wired doorbell transformer, you can connect this to it and it will trickle charge the battery. Otherwise it will operate entirely on battery power.

• Yes wire existing door bell wires and wire to the new nest unit and it also can work off a charged battery built in it as well

• It says battery but it can be installed as wired. Highly recommend doing that.
