Both were simple to set up. Also, we are just using the google devices in our home for the chime as I did not hook it up to the old doorbell chime. I have Nest aware so it can record 24/7 if you choose to set it up that way. We have it set to record events so the history is longer.

Both wired but 1 won't keep the battery charged in cold winter like it is now. It just drains the battery until it shuts down and reads, Battery empty. Goggle tells me to bring it inside to warm it up. What kind of an answer is that. Looks like they have issues and needs addressing.There is no way they tested this in cold climate. Buy the older Nest Doorbell. It's works very well because Google didn't make it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.they do have a wired version, this version is for those that do not want a wired doorbell but want a secure video doorbell camera. the Nest Doorbell (wired) is the version you want that replaces your wired doorbell.

Please try again later.The “battery/ wired” version of the Nest Doorbell is using a terminology that is inaccurate because wired cameras can mean wired audio/video, BUT in the case of this camera the “wires” are the door bell wires and the video is WiFi video. Additionally the claim video subscription is NOT. Because the Nest Aware App doesn’t work with the Second Generation Cameras. The Nest Support I spoke with said there was something being worked on to make the Google Hone App function like NEST Aware. But, without the functionality of Nest Aware, I’ll have to look for something else.
