No they are not compatible to extend each other's signals. However you can buy the 3 pack of the Nest. You can have 1 as the main router and 2 of them extending the signal, like how you have the Airport express. I've noticed that the nest has pretty good range. I have the Extreme as well and noticed the Nest is much faster too.

Please try again later.We recommend setting up Nest Wifi router as your primary router as it has faster processing speeds and a 4x4 antenna that can extend the coverage area up to 2,200 sq.ft. You can get a second Nest Wifi router and either wire it to the primary router with an Ethernet cable or connect it wirelessly. You can then place it near your detached garage for a strong connection. You can also do this by getting the wireless Nest Wifi point which can also be your Google Assistant-enabled speaker in your garage. But when the points are connected wirelessly, the distance between them should not be more 2 rooms.
