• You only need to plug in one of the devices and it becomes your "base" station. The others will connect to it wirelessly to create your mesh - so no you do not need to have a wired uplink on each of them to have service across them / extend your network.

• You just plug in one to the main source. The other ones just need to be plugged into power source. You use the Google home app to set it all up.
