• Not intentionally but I have used just one (R) because I misplaced the other (L). It worked fine before and after I found the missing (L) bud.

• You can use one/either bud by itself while the other charges in the case or whatever.

• Hi Joe, you need to pair both buds, but then you can use just one bud if you want. You can just wear a single bud. To get hands-free help from Google Assistant. • They pair as, well, a pair. But you can leave one bud in the case and just drive with the other one.
