Do I need to have my cell phone near? null

Not as far as I’ve seen it over the past few weeks.

It depends on whether you purchase the wifi one or the LTE. If its the wifi you can travel around your home or yard without your phone close but you will need the LTE if you want to jog without your phone for example.
