“When I purchased my pixel book I wasn't able to but the warranty for it through best buy... why is that? I'm not trying to bash on best buy, I love my pixel book but I'm just concerned about the long run.”

I wondered that too... You have to pay for the insurance through Google or a secondary insurance like assurance. I opted out of both.. and that does not sit well with me either... Would be easier if best buy offered insurance.. but they don't... Wish I knew why as well... It's only the Google pixel book cause the Dell Chromebook... You could purchase an extended warranty at best buy... A three year one at that...

Best Buy, for instance, will do returns and warranty exchanges for 15 days (more if you're in a different level of their loyalty program), but once that's done, the remainder of the warranty term will be handled by the manufacturer. You can still go through the store where you purchased it, but they'll end up contacting the manufacturer if the initial period is done.
