It is better to use Bluetooth for your car. You may get away with using the USB port and if you have Android Auto or Apple Car Play that will take over the USB port in the car and control the radio and pass audio to the speakers instead and act as the media player. They will likely not work to convert a USB-C on your car to 3.5mm if the car doesn't have 3.5mm audio in. The USB in via Android Auto or Apple Car Play will cover that if you have the feature.
