- Answer Its “male” end is USB C. Its “female” end is a standard small headphone jack. I use it to connect my wired Bose headphones to my new IPad.

- Answer You shouldn't have to but you may want to try another headset. Several cheap or older headsets didn't work with it but all my higher end ones did.
