• Yes, you need an internet service provider as well as a modem. Google Wi-Fi is just a router or access point capable of 1Gb/s data transfer. To maximize its use, you need fast internet subscription (100Mb/s and up) and fast modem (docsis 3.0 or 3.1 that can handle 100Mb/s or higher). One google Wi-Fi works fine for 1,600 sqft home.
