You will need an ethernet cable to plug into this router. I would expect some kind of modem would be needed to translate the fiber into an appropriate medium to plug into the router. At the end of the day, this is like any other router you would use, such as a linksys or airport.

Please try again later.If you only have a fiber optic handoff from your ISP, you will need a fiber to ethernet media converter for a copper RJ-45 connection to the Google WiFi AP. Assuming the fiber internet service is DHCP, you would connect Google WiFi AP using ethernet to the media converter that has the fiber optic cable connected from your ISP, the Google WiFi setup wizard will handle the rest of the for you. Otherwise you will choose Static IP or PPPoE (username and password required) in the wizard.

You would have to connect your modem to the WAN port. You should be able to use it combination with the router your ISP provided but you cannot use it instead of it. Hope that helped
