When setting up the whole-home system, the instructions say to place them no more than two rooms apart. I'm getting 5,000 SF of strong coverage that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would be best if someone from Google answered but given they say each unit covers 500-1500 sq ft (up to 1500 sq ft), you could translate that into the area of a circle with the unit at the center. if you do that, a circle with radius of 22 feet has 1500 sq ft of area. So the answer is: the range of each unit is 22 feet. This does not seem very good because typical off the shelf routers with external antennas can have a range of 150 feet or more. The actual answer may be more complex because these devices have a "rate vs range" curve which means that as you get further away, the signal strength gets smaller and so does the maximum data rate which you can get. So the "range" depends on what you are willing to accept as the minimum "rate" at that distance. At close distances to the Wi-Fi device, the maximum rate will almost always be larger than the provisioned rate you have with your cable or DSL provider - so you will see the full data rate you pay for. As you get further from your Wi-Fi device, the maximum rate of your Wi-Fi device will become the limiting factor and you will see slower speeds which you may notice in the form of Netflix video quality, download times, upload times, etc. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1,000-1,500 per sq ft.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A single Google Wifi router covers around 1500 sq.ft. Two easily cover more than 2500 sq. ft. and three cover up to about 4500 sq. ft.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each seems to cover about 800-1000 sq ft. or so. I have a home that is 1926 sq feet, split level and it covers everything fine and we get signal in the garage as well (nearly 900 sq ft). The signal is a little weaker upstairs using just one pod. Using all three from this pack made the whole house light up and we can access the internet out in the yard about 50 ft from the house in all directions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've gotten as much as 70 feet indoors through multiple walls at the worst possible angles. I've gotten over 100 feet straightline outside of the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've gotten 50 to 60 feet from the base unit through several walls with no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Approximately about 2 rooms, I was able to have the routers 55 feet apart from one another.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to Google page, a single Wifi point covers homes up to 1,500 sq. ft. while the three pack covers homes up to 4,500 sq. ft. You may need additional Wifi points, for example if you have a long narrow home or thick walls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Google says each unit should cover 1500 square feet.
