Even without a remote control though, you can control certain functions (including starting and stopping videos and taking photos) without touching the camera. The first is to use the voice commands feature that allows the HERO12 Black to respond to commands like "GoPro start recording" and "GoPro take a picture". Another option is to pair the HERO12 Black to a smartphone using the Quik app. Once paired, you can use your phone to control even more functions and settings on the camera.
