• yes you can still use this while its being charged. the cover covering the charging port can be removed as well when charging to have it in its case.

• Yes. I have 2 cameras continuously powered using the supplied power cable. The side door needs to be removed if you are using it this way in the mount. (Watch videos about removing the side door or else you will likely break it. Replacement doors are available...)
