I would not advise this. as the motor would be straining to cut a larger diameter log. I tried this with a 16 inch gas powered chainsaw, I put on an Oregon 20 inch bar and chain, the motor was straining to cut a large diameter log. The larger chainsaws have more CC's and more torque for a reason.
