No it does not, but the case itself is hard shell and although I've dropped my NANO it hasn't broken.

However, the rubber sleeve that it comes with is kind of recessed where the screen is so it doesn't seem like it would come in contact with the ground if it fell. I've dropped it many times and while the holster did not last, the sleeve still manages to protect my iPod.
