Get a 32 GB micro sd card. The instructions tell you how to view the recording.

You can receive an email, sms message, or an alert on your smartphone. You can view the recordings and download them in the app. Guardzilla will save the recordings in the cloud for free for 2 days. If you save them to your phone you can keep them forever. If you want longer automatic recordings and have them saved in the cloud for more than 2 days you need to sign up for one of their services.

In some newer models there is a "pet mode" that comes with that as well (not sure if it's useful or not). In alert mode I believe it takes a picture of the first image when activated then other pictures thereafter, even while recording. There is also a continuous recording option.
