• It does work with Switch 1! It’s a little wonky, but you need to redeem the code through Nintendo’s website. It will tell you that you do not have anything that is compatible, ignore that and redeem it anyway. Then the game will be available for download through your Virtual Game Cards on your account.

• The code definitely does not work on the original Switch. I tried based on the previous answer to this question and now I'm stuck with a worthless code.

• Yes the s2 edition is just switch 1 game packed with the free upgrade you can play it without on s1
