A:AnswerWe recommend that the controls of both the refrigerator and the freezer sections be set to the midway point. Allow 24 hours for the unit to reach these temperatures and then adjust as needed. -Kacie@HaierAppliances
A:AnswerMy Haier has never wanted to go above 2! in the refrigerator section. Set at a hair under 2 it maintains 40 degrees well.
Variations will occur as you add a load of not yet cold things to it. The location of the temperature dial -- not my favorite, it is easy to hit by accident.
This is a terrific refrigerator for the money but it's not like a full size one where temperature control is immediate. But once you find your desired temp it's OK. I keep a little temperature dial in the refrigerator and the freezer. This is a worthwhile expense of ~ less than $10.
A:AnswerThe high setting on the Crisper drawer is good for leafy fresh vegetables and the low setting for this drawer is good for vegetables or fruits that have skin. You can read the full description for this drawer on page 13 of the Use and Care manual found on the product page. For a salad that contains both leafy vegetables and skinned vegetables you will want to set your drawer to the middle.
A:AnswerThe overall height including the hinge cover is approximately 59.5" with the legs in the lower position (59.9" with the legs in the Mid position). The hinge cover height is approximately 0.5", so the height to the top of the case is approximately 59". We recommend that you review the "Proper Air Circulation" section on pg. 5 of the Owner's Manual to determine if your space meets the clearance requirements for this fridge.
A:AnswerWe encourage you to disconnect the power to the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes to reset the controls. Using a warm water (not hot) and baking soda solution, we recommend cleaning the entire gasket and the area to which the gasket seals. Dry completely and rub a small amount of petroleum jelly all along the length and width of the gasket to ensure the gasket is sealing properly. If you continue to have difficulty and are confident the door wasn't left open accidentally, we recommend calling Bodewell Service at 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) to schedule a service appointment to have your refrigerator properly diagnosed and repaired.

A:AnswerGood day,
Thanks for taking some time to ask about this refrigerator.
It is normal for the top and sides of the unit to be warm or hot to the touch during normal operation. Make sure that you have an inch of air space around the case to allow good airflow.
Top, Front, and Sides
This is normal. Part of the cooling process is removing heat from inside the refrigerator. In the process of pulling heat from the refrigerator, some of that heat is transferred to the sides and top of the unit to reduce condensation buildup. Additionally heat is applied to the edge of the door frame and between the doors to reduce condensation buildup during humid days.
Rear and Sides
In the rear of the refrigerator, the condenser (the black radiator) on the back of the refrigerator gets hot as the inside of the fresh food or freezer section gets cold. On hot days, the condenser has to work harder to get rid of the heat created by keeping the refrigerator cold. We hope this helps. Reach out to us if you have any additional questions. Stay well! Mike@Haier

A:AnswerHi,
This is a great question. This refrigerator has a running wattage of 1,725 watts. This can be calculated by multiplying the amps (15) by the voltage (115). Appliances with compressors (ex. refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers), there is a brief surge of power when the compressor cycles on. This is called the "surge" or "start-up" amps, and is about 2x to 3x the running amps. Let us know if you have any other questions. Mike@Haier
