Someone that has now bought and wasted £54 , you absolutely cannot play this game offline. You have to log in online first and validate your purchase everytime you turn your machine on which defeats the point of being offline indefinitely

the answer by MicrosoftOutreachTeam  here is untrue. You simply cannot connect to your campaign game if offline while on an xbox with the digital campaign downloaded. It requires a validation which you can only get if online. Basically  this campaign is dead when the servers no longer exist ie when the do eventually take them down because it's tied to the validation existing to authenticate your game. The validation you should have already received when you purchased the campaign. In the future regardless of if we have internet connection or not we simply wont be able to play this anymore.

People need to be more vocal of this aspect because just like every game you have and in particular all the other campaigns from Halo2 all the way to Halo5, these can all be played offline unlike Halo infinite that has bafflingly gone another route. If you care to play this game way down the line like you do already with all the other games you own, then people need to start making some noise regarding this  issue

You can't play Halo Infinite's campaign without online authentication each time you launch the game.
This detail is being deliberately censored on other website's comments sections. 
Tried mentioning it and my comments suddenly disappeared. 
Had I known internet was required, I wouldn't have bought this game. Unless this is changed, I'll never buy another game affiliated with Microsoft or 343.

Well I will tell you this we lost internet today and I was unable to play the campaign (kept prompting me to purchase it or insert disk). Not sure if this is an isolated bug or you do need internet just passing it along. I purchased the game online and haven’t had this issue with other games bought the same way.

From my understanding its gonna work the same as all the other campaigns with the ability to play online or offline. Be aware though that there is no campaign coop either locally or over xbox live

Thank you for your question. Halo Infinite will require an internet connection to install and update the game, however the story campaign may be played offline afterwards.
