• We've been putting the carafe in the dishwasher for a year now without any problems, so I would say yes. It is dishwasher safe.

• Some plastics are dishwasher safe, some are not. One must check the user manual to know. You can't even go by brand. One model might be dishwasher safe, another may not. Plastics can degrade in the dishwasher, and can become weak and crack. Carrying a pot of hot coffee and having the handle break would not be a happy event. -- Former Hamilton Beach employee and UL certified technician.
