Thank you for your question. When using this SmoothTouch Can Opener hold the lever down until the can has completely finished at least one rotation. The motor will not automatically stop when the can is open.

Please try again later.I have on mine for four years and now it will not open certain vegetable cans.. first it was open the can partially now it only opens it a half inch. I’ve had El cheapo can opener’s last 20 years that had a knife but I prefer using this because it’s more sterile and there’s less resistance to cut flesh, fingers and hands
