• Wide cans are not an issue as you can guide the can on the bottom as it circles. Tall cans would not be a problem but you would have to put the opener up on a ledge to have more room for the height of the can.

• I found that it opens all cans. However, I have never tried it on cans that are taller than the opener itself. I have small grandchildren who use this can opener and have no worries when they use it, they can't cut themselves.
