QuestionIs the tea leaves insert optional to put in? Can I run the kettle without the insert for tea leaves? Is the insert connected to the lid?

- Answer Tea leaves insert is optional, works well without it. Insert slides into the lid and can be removed via a release in the lid of the tea kettle.

- Answer Thank you for your question. Once the boil cycle has been completed the kettle will automatically power off. Once the kettle powers off, the water will start to cool off.
