“Once the battery's life NO LONGER ALLOWS FOR A CHARGE (battery life depleted/dead), will the speaker function if it's plugged into the charger even when the battery is "dead?"”

I believe you can use this speaker while it is plugged in not just when it's not. I have used it both ways.

Simply purchase the extended warranty through Best Buy and you're guaranteed at least 2 to 3 years of usage!

Not sure how long it would take to completely kill the battery on this thing but if it did wouldn't you either change it or send it in to have it changed?

Yes. I charge and use it all the time when the battery is completed depleted or "dead."
