A:Answer Unfortunately for wake-up usage, yes, it does go into standby mode even though on external power. I use the speaker with an Android phone music app (Mort Player) for going to sleep, but cannot use its wake-up function as the speaker seems to go into standby overnight. I suppose that is great for saving battery, but on external power, that is a big negative for wake-up use such as I want.
