“How far away from the source can it still detect the signal? I want to buy several and put them around the house. My blue tooth earbuds don't work when I go upstairs if my phone is downstairs. Do they signal to each other when sync'ed?”

Very far reach. Also depends on where you live. I live in a rural area in a 6,000 square foot home and reaches from anywhere. I have also used it at another location which had plaster walls and the reach was not as efficient, location was also in city where there are so many crossing signals which interfere. Best of luck.
