It does it when it detects you have tuned in an HD FM station . You will see "HD -1" on the display. After you see that you can tune up to HD-2 and HD-3. If all else fails, do a reset to factory defaults after going to the menu button.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to have a very strong signal to receive HD. HD is only 1% to 10% of the strength of the main analog FM. Call your local FM station to verify if they are in HD and ask for their station engineer on the phone; tell them your location and that you're trying to get them in HD. They will help you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It automatically changes to HD if it is being broadcast and a good enough signal. It take about 5-8 secs to switch from regular FM to HD and sounds alot better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should find any HD stations in your area automatically. HD signals are weaker the regular FM. You may be tool far from a FM/HD transmitter... or you may have a bad product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Reset It using paperclip on side or reset to factory settings (MENU) If still not working, take it in to a local Best Buy store and have them look at it. Good Luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To set the radio to *only* search for HD stations, follow this procedure: -hit the 'M' button on the left of the unit -hit the down button (down facing triangle on the left) to select option 2: "seek select" -hit the 'enter button in the center of the unit -the screen will show seek select and "ALL" and HD" below that -hit the left hand arrow button at the bottom right of the screen to select "HD" "hit the enter button in the center of the unti. This procedure will force the radio to only search for HD stations. If you dont find any HD stations (indicated by an HD logo at the top of the screen), it could be that HD radio is not available in your area, or alternatively your radio could be defective.
