Your digital HDTV antenna would connect to the HDHomeRun device. You will need a computer or other network storage device to record shows. This is not an all-in-one solution like a Tivo or other DVR system. It requires home networking, an HDTV antenna, the device, itself, an annual subscription to record and a local storage location in your home - like a PC or network storage device. It also require Internet access for setup and account management.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The HDHomeRun Duo will work as a cloud based DVR for over the air broadcasts for a $35 per year subscription. The streaming output seems to work well on an iPad with a $15 app called Channels and you can mirror it to AppleTV from that. I didn’t have good luck mirroring from the free company app. The image was small. I also didn’t have good luck with that app on Amazon FireTV. I couldn’t get it to change channels. I really haven’t found a solution for this that I can recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Connect version of HDhomerun allows you to watch two over the air channels via an external TV antenna. It grabs them, uses the two internal TV tuners to stream the LIVE signal of a TV station to a TV and one other device or other TV via an RJ45 LAN connection. I have not installed mine yet due to install problems. If you want DVR capabilities to store and watrch he videos you have to subscribe to their online DVR app which I think is about $35 per year. They don't disclose that anywhere. Search on YouTube for the Lon.TV channel and that channel has many videos on simple and complex uses of HDhomerun. You can also get a 4-tuner version and other more advanced units. You will need lots of hard disk space to store any videos you save via the DVR app.
