“TV has a strong exterior odor. Can smell it immediately when you open the box.Appears to be a result of the casing on the TV. Seems worse in use. Purchased 3. I returned worst but replacement is the same. They all have it. Will it eventually go away?”

What is the brand ? Some. Like tcl adhear the heat sink to the plastic shell n as it heats it smells because of the warming plastic I think all these are made in china ..that could be another issue .a lot of these new plastic products have a smell it seems. I bought studio headphones and had to set them aside for a few months to " air " ..they say that a new tv can have to burn off the flux and things from the chips n circuits manufacturing .unused tvs after sitting a while can have dust burnoff but that smells like your heater after summer when you turn it on but thatvshouldbt be a new tv situation .I myself dont understand why they can't be more like our mobile screens as far as that quality .....there needs to be a standard set .
