Most are free to add, some may require a subscription or pay-as-you-go, but many offer free programming. Couple channels are free but most are separate, monthly subscriptions! Kind of like how to buy apps for a phone. If one already already has netflix or pandora they just log into account same way you would on computer or tablet. Easy to set up! Hdmi cable has to be purchased separately!
