“On my current TV, I can change the picture size to like Wide, and screen fit. Can you do this with this TV or not? I often need to change the picture size so the black bars are gone from side of movies.”

You cannot do that in the home menu. However, when you're playing a movie, depends on the software you use, like VLC Player, you can adjust the screen to whatever aspect ratio you like. Keep in mind you can't do that with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or YouTube.
