Hello Vic, Thank you for your interest in the Hisense 60A6G. Yes you can use your phone as a hotspot. However, it will not stay connected due to signal from the phone not being as strong as a wifi box, hence the reason it is not recommended. Please try again later.My dad lives in assisted living and Wifi stinks and the 1st day we watched this new TV it buffered some off and on while streaming Amazon Prime and the next time no signal at all couldn't get connected so I did hotspot from my phone and it worked great. I used up my free 15 gigs of hotspot quickly from doing it 2 or 3 times but I still have unlimited at a slower speed and it worked fine with no buffering. I was lucky I guess!
