Yes it's true. whatever apps are on the Xumo TV, that's what you're stuck with. I didnt know this until AFTER I bought two of them, and missed the return date. I would NEVER have bought this brand/model had I known this crappy limitation was in place.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is terrible that Xumo TV won't allow adding additional apps. Had to buy Cromecast from Google to plug in to hdmi port so I could add apps. You'd think they'd fix the poor design.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was appalled that I couldn't access PBS Passport through Xumo. Public television is hardly a competitor to all the commercial sites preinstalled on Xumo that I wouldn't ever watch. This makes my installed Xumo significantly less useful to my life. Back to streaming PBS Passport on the small screen of my computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wish i had not bought this tv, cannot put the apps i want on it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you happen to have an iPhone it does say they have airplay so whichever apps aren’t available on the tv just might be available on the iPhone and you could use airplay, I know still kind of sucks that you have to take extra steps just purchased one today because it was on sale I looked at many different options on the tv to see how it matched up. Unfortunately I did overlook this assuming that every smart tv set up would have an App Store, although I also have a Roku premiere so I can use that out my old iPhone hooked up with WiFi. Those without these options though it really sucks Pepe want choices and to be able to make them on their own not having to be told these are the top apps and there pre loaded, how about you do an update so you don’t have to have 200 some odd apps if you only want a few and have it so you can actually choose what apps and not just have a bunch of junk apps you will never use
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I absolutely hate that I can't add apps. The TV I have has a good picture and refresh rate. The apps I use work well and has no issues. However. I hate that I need to purchase a Chromecast to watch and use my other apps. 1. Rumble (How is this not already loaded?!?!) 2. Twitter (X) Why can't I use one of the best social apps? 3. Dofu - NFL 4. Any browser apps (Chrome,Brave, Duck Duck Go) 5. TNT/TBS I could go on for days. Stay clear of any Xumo TVs for now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Like other commenters mentioned, you cannot add your own apps to Xumo - only access what's provided. I was told by a Best Buy employee that you could add your own, but clearly he had no idea of what he was talking about! I avoided getting a Roku-based TV for the same reason, only to get duped into getting this terrible streaming platform. I use Kodi to stream from my NAS, but can't install Kodi because of the lockdown of Xumo. If you have app preferences not included in their lineup, avoid this and go with a FireTV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Xumo tv is a piece of junk. Bestbuy replaced my old Panasonic tv via the warranty and gave me the Pioneer Xumo tv without any other brand to choose from. Sure glad i paid for the warranty which they replaced with garbage. Very few apps that i use cause they all suck and i can't download anything else. I hate this tv and feel like Bestbuy totally cheated me. What a rip off. Don't waste your money on a Xumo and don't trust the Bestbuy extended warranty.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yah … Xumo has a very limited list of apps and therefore isn’t very good. Ruko is MUCH better as one can add a multitude of apps. For example, the Backgammon app on Roku is far superior to that supplied by Xumo. And the Roku TV app is a nice feature found, of course, on Roku … so I’ll stream on Roku. Xumo is going back soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The real kicker is that Xumo Used to support PBS Passport. They pulled it out of their offerings without any warning. Political motivation???? I cannot imagine why else they would pull an app that people were using & that they didn't have issues supporting initially.
