“How is the sound quality on this? I have a Vizio now and the sound is so garbled I can’t understand half of what is said and adding only makes it louder not plainer to understand, also does this set have an optic connection?”

The sound is decent but not premium. Its plenty loud enough for our big living room. We keep the volume on less than 30 out of 100 scale almost all times and it is very clear and easy to hear. You wll start to notice some increasing distortion as you increase to the higher volumes (esp. over 50+), but it is still fairly clear and understable. At voume 50, it is way too loud of course for normal listening in my opinion. I think I remember reading it had 2 built-in 10W speakers and a subwolfer. Yes, it has an optic connection on the back,
