“What's the trick to making the voice commands work? I can see there's a microphone built into the remote, and I can enter apps and menus where I'm prompted to speak, but speaking into that microphone does nothing. Help!”

The manual isn't real clear about this, but the trick is to Bluetooth pair your remote control with the TV. Even though the remote works in infrared mode right out of the box, it's not Bluetooth paired with your TV until you pair it, and Bluetooth mode is required for the voice commands to work. To pair it, you simply point the remote at the TV and then press and hold the menu button. It will pair automatically in about three seconds. Once you've paired your remote control, all button presses are sent to the TV by Bluetooth rather than infrared. So the remote no longer needs to be pointed at the TV to control it, which is kind of nice. The exception is when turning the TV on. That's still infrared, so you have to point the remote. But once it's on, you're in Bluetooth mode and the remote no longer needs to be pointed.
