It is in strong clamps with a soft, non-slip silicone base, I think that is very nice to dedicated surfaces like glass countertop. I use it to replace my old adhesive phone holder in my car that kept failing in the summer hot weather, this universal holder securely clip onto my car's air vent and hasn't slipped once. I can also get it down easily and use it when driving in other cars or taking flights. Last and most, it feels sturdy and well-made, not cheap the price is really reasonable to its quality!
