I felt like a very bad girl even thinking about this now. :-D

Servers are pain WELL UNDER minimum wage because the reataurant expects the customers to pay for service. When ypu go to starbucks/pay best buy/get gas, etc...those people are paid AT LEAST minimum wage...servers are paid (last i checked 2.13/hour and the government requires them to claim/report their tips everyday to the compant, who then reports it to the gov and thays how they ensure that the servers make minimum wage.
