• Just like any other electrical device, yes, it needs electrical power to operate. There are no rechargeable batteries inside or anything like that. And yes, it needs a router to function.

• yes it needs to be plugged in to get power to turn on. there are no batteries yes you need a router with wifi, because if it can't connect to the internet it can't do anything
