You just need the Google Home app on your phone to set this up, plus an internet connection at home. Otherwise, nothing else is needed. It comes with the power adapter.

Additional accessories do enhance your experience though. Things like the Philips Hue, Nest, Chromecast, and a few other smart home gadgets make the Mini a lot more fun, but as a stand alone unit is quite useful. I also have the large Google Home and I always ask it general questions, how long it will take me to get to work, what the weather's like, and so on. The Mini can also make phone calls for you. The Mini is just like the regular sized home only the regular sized home has a way better speaker, but the Mini speaker is still good.
