I am not an expert, but the smart devices normally need a hub or bridge to work.GH can be used with some of these hubs like Smartthings. If the hub or bridge loses connection the device will lose connectivity, unless, the device is running locally on the hub/bridge. Running locally meaning it does not connect via Internet to the cloud. Hopefully someone with more experience in home automation can give you a more thorough answer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Google Home requires an internet connection to do anything. The unit is just a mic, speaker and Wi-Fi transmitter. All data analysis is compiled at a central computer, not locally. No internet, no Google Home.
