When you get up you would just say "Ok Google, Good Morning" and it will tell you want is on your google calendar for the day, the near term weather and then the news. You can stop it at any time by saying "Ok Google, Stop". It works great as a first thing in the morning reminder of what is coming up for the day.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can... I would recommend using this in concert with a free applet trigger website/app called IFTTT to customize all kinds of event triggers and reminders.

Then, anytime you want to hear your schedule just say 'hey Google, tell me what my calendar looks like today' or '...tell me what my weekend schedule is' or similar. It does not yet support reminders, though, so your approach of setting a calendar event like 'take morning medicine' recurring is definitely the way to go until that reminder functionality is there. We use the google calendar integration all the time, we have a shared family calendar for doctor appointments, school appointments, weekend events, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does! If you have anything on your Google Calendar, Google Home can read it and give you the date and time. Additionally it can link to Google Keep for notes and reminders. This can be really helpful for adding things to a shopping list.
