• Thus is for Google home, not the echo. For any music that is not Pandora or a free version of music services you will need to pay for a subscription. If you are on using Pandora or a similar free service from Spotify or Amazon then you don't have to pay anything.

• To use the Amazon Echo you need to download a free app. The app keeps track of all you do with the Echo. Once set up you can just use it with no more cost. If you want Alexa to buy things from Amazon or play unlimited music you need Amazon Prime which costs $100 a year. If you are just going to use it as an assistant it is good but the Google Home is smarter and has more answers.
