“If you don't know how to read a word, such as the name of a person, a place, can you ask Google Home by spelling out the word? Can Google Home understand, do search, and answer including the right pronunciation. I have Echo Dot, which cannot do it. Thanks”

No, I just asked it to pronounce a name that I spelled and it said, "Sorry, I don't know how to do that yet."
