One of my next purchases that I will be adding to my Google Home. From what I have researched on that you need the Logitech remote hub in order to do this. Then on IFTTT you need to sync your Logitech hub to IFTTT. Then you should be able to voice command your TV on/off. I am not sure if the "remotes" can come into play with this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can work. My setup isn't right to get the TV on but that's my fault setting up the IR extenders. One problem I had is my WiFi has two bands. The Home and Harmony Hub have to be on the same band or IFTTT doesn't trigger the activity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will work with your activities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am waiting for my harmony hub to come in, but outside of that, I can confirm that this does support Logitech harmony devices. There are many examples of control through Google home that are searchable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Using IFTTT, the Google Assistant trigger lets you define a simple phrase and the Harmony action is limited to just starting and ending activities. For example, I've set up a trigger ("OK Google, watch a movie") to start the Harmony "watch a movie" activity which will turn on my TV and AVR and then switch over to my Android TV input. Similarly, I have a "turn off the TV" trigger that will end the activity. Interestingly, configuring the Harmony action to end an activity forces you to select a specific activity. But, luckily, it seems to work regardless of which activity is actually currently active. For example, "turn off the TV" is configured in IFTTT to end the "watch a movie" activity, but it will still end the current activity even if I'm in a different one. The limitations here seem to be more from Harmony than Google. I'm actually super impressed with the Google Assistant trigger (especially compared to Alexa / Amazon Echo).
