• You will need a smartphone to set it up, at least. After that, it performs most current functions without needing a smartphone in the room. It will connect to your home Wi-Fi signal.

• You dont need a smart phone. You can use a laptop. You deo need wireless though.

• You need an Android device (tablet or phone) to set the device up, but after that, no other device is necessary unless you want to change settings.
