“The description states "This Honeywell ComfortTemp ceramic tower heater has timer settings to ensure your space is warmed up when you get in." I purchased based on this functionality but can't find via the manual how to engage this function. Please help”

I had this heater for almost a year and have not came across that specific function you mention. It just has basic timer function settings 1hr 2hr etc
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. On the control panel, on the right hand side, will be a clock symbol. Press this to activate the timer setting. The light will then pop up showing what time this unit is set to run for. You can alter the set time by pressing the button again.
