“Should you keep anything in the water to keep it from forming mold or mildew? My other one there was liquid you guys sold to add to it the water, although, I just poured out the water to switch to my new one, and the water was green. Must of not helped.”

I use a bactericide/water softener in any/every humidifier to prevent scaling and bacteria buildup.
