A) Thank you for your interest in our products. This unit will filter 161 cubic feet of smoke per minute when used in a 250 square foot room. The way that this air purifier works is a fan draws the surrounding air in towards the unit, and the air passed through the filters, which trap most of the particulates in the air. Unfortunately, if any particles lands on the walls or furniture before it reaches the unit, it will not be able to remove these particles. I hope this information is helpful! I mean you could probably smoke inside and it get rid of the smell of smoke after a day probably if the oders don't sink into walls carpet or clothes, but itll get rid of any smoke odors in the air though!
